The Alhambra Latino Association is happy to announce that our scholarship application process is now open. We will take submissions from now through March 15, 2024.
This scholarship is open to Alhambra Unified School District seniors who identify (in any way) as Latinx and plan to enroll in post-secondary education in the fall of 2024. Winners will be selected from each high school within the district: Alhambra HS, Mark Keppel HS, San Gabriel HS; one from all the BOLD Academy Programs and one from all the Independent Study Programs. In addition to 2 special scholarships:
Dora S. Padilla Memorial Arts Scholarship
Dora Padilla, an ALA founder and longtime district board member, was a strong supporter of the arts, and this scholarship recognizes students who have excelled in the performing, literary or visual arts, but can include in their application essay how being involved in the arts has helped to shape them.
Brian N. Tatsuno Memorial Career Tech Scholarship
Brian Tatsuno loved lowrider cars, was very creative and handy with tools. This scholarship is for students interested in a technical career, which include but are not limited to: electrical, plumbing, welding, and carpentry. Applicants are required to have plans to pursue a technical trades career, and should include that in their application essay.
